My wife’s sister RaNae Smith, who is the Roper kids 4th cousin, passed away on 12/12/2003. I first met RaNae in 1973 while serving as a missionary in Grass Valley, California. I had no idea at the time that the Smiths were cousins ( Jones line ). Later I married RaNae’s older sister Ann. I still remember what a happy child RaNae was. Its been an intertesting time, with her passing away. Not only was she a sister-in-law, but a cusin.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003 at Chico Cemetery for RaNae Smith who passed away on December 12, 2003 in Chico, CA,

She was born April 21, 1965 in Vernal, Utah. She moved to Red Bluff, CA., in 1974. She graduated from Red Bluff High School. She had lived there until moving to Chico in 1988, where she worked as an office manager and a bookkeeper.

RaNae is survived by her two daughters, Tara and Jamie of Chico, her parents Roy and Joan Smith of Rexburg, Idaho brother Arlen and wife Sue of Citrus Heights, sisters, Marlene (Dave) of Florida, Ann (Terry) of Colorado, Ellen (Larry) of Red Bluff, Rita (Bret) of Rexburg, Idaho, Lara (Jamey) of Utah and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

RaNae was loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. She will always hold a special place in the hearts that knew her best.

Visitation will be held from 5-8pm. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003 at Brusie Funeral Home.
Brusie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
