War Ration Book No. 3

Marvel D. Roper

Update: These are my father’s ration books and I posted them for historical purposes. Unfortunately I don’t know of the value of rations books. If you search on ebay for ration books they seem to sell anywhere from $1 to $25 at the most.

  1. How do I find out if the ration books I have are worth anything? Or do they have a monetary value at all, are they just a collecters item? I appreciate your comments.

  2. I have the WAR RATION book No. #3 and #4. I would like do know if there are of value. Thank you.

  3. I have the WAR RATION books No. #3 and #4 from the war. I do not know if they are of value. They belonged to my Mother who passed away in 98 and I am just now going through her memorabilia. Thank you.

  4. I have ration books 2 and 3 not sure of their value if any was in my mothers things I found after she died.

  5. My friend & I have come across her father’s war ration books (several) and are in agreement with your findings: they are only valuable as memorabilia. My question to you is this: There is one stamp with the Laby Liberty Torch on it – what was that stamp used for? All the other stamps are rather obvious with their intent – Thanks for any clues to you can send our way –

  6. In my prior note to you, I forgot to ask about the War Ration Books with stamps displaying Airplanes, Tanks, Ships & Guns (4 different stamps). What where THOSE used for? Can you enlighten us? My friend plans to keep these books in safekeeping to hand down to her children & would like to be able to explain what the individual stamps were for, as generations of children down the road will not have a clue to what these are – or were for! Your help is much appreciated –

  7. I’ll try to remember to ask my father what the various stamps were for next time I talk to him.
